Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Pin Share ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our iOS application. We take privacy seriously and have designed Pin Share to keep your data on your device whenever possible.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information stored only on your device
The following information never leaves your device:
- Pins you create and save (coordinates, custom names, addresses, attached photos)
- App preferences (settings, last-known map position)
- Photos you capture or pick from your gallery for sharing
1.2 Information shared with third-party services
To provide subscriptions and improve the app, we use the following services, which may collect limited information:
- Adapty (subscription management): an anonymous customer ID, purchase events, subscription status. Adapty's privacy policy: adapty.io/privacy.
- PostHog (product analytics): anonymized event logs about which app screens you visit and which actions you take (for example, "pin_dropped" or "paywall_view"). PostHog does not receive your saved pins, photos, or precise location. PostHog's privacy policy: posthog.com/privacy.
- Apple StoreKit / App Store: payment processing for subscriptions is handled entirely by Apple in accordance with their privacy policy.
1.3 Permissions you may grant
Pin Share may request access to:
- Location (When In Use) — to center the map on your current position and provide "current location" features. Location data is processed on-device and not transmitted to our servers.
- Camera — to capture photos for sharing alongside a pin. Photos remain on your device unless you choose to share them.
- Photo Library (Add only) — only if you opt in to "Save to Photos". Off by default.
- App Tracking Transparency — if granted, allows us to use Apple's identifier for advertisers for attribution purposes only. No data is shared with third-party advertisers.
You may revoke any of these permissions at any time from iOS Settings.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the core functionality of the app (display the map, drop pins, save favorites, share content).
- To process and validate subscription purchases.
- To understand which features are used and to fix bugs (via anonymized analytics).
- To respond to your support inquiries when you contact us.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party advertisements inside the app.
3. Data Retention
- Pins and on-device data persist until you delete them or uninstall the app.
- Subscription records are retained by Adapty and Apple for as long as required by accounting and tax laws.
- Anonymized analytics events are retained by PostHog for up to 7 years and may be deleted earlier on request.
4. Children's Privacy
Pin Share is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
5. International Users
Information processed by Adapty and PostHog may be stored or processed in countries other than your own. By using Pin Share, you consent to such transfer of information.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held by our service providers. To exercise these rights:
- For information held on your device — delete the app or clear specific items in the Saves screen.
- For information held by Adapty or PostHog — contact us at onlinekirillandreevich@gmail.com and we will coordinate the request.
7. Disclaimer About Location Services
Pin Share is a custom location pin sharing tool. The app does not modify your device's actual GPS, mock location services, or interfere with location data reported to other apps. Shared pins reflect locations you choose on the map and do not represent your real-time presence.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected in the app's release notes.
